Pete McCarthy has died.
I loved his books -McCarthy's Bar and The Road to McCarthy.
McCarthy´s Bar is an exploration of his Irish roots - his mother was English, his father Irish - in a typicaly Irish way. He travelled from Cork to Donegal and stopped at every bar with the McCarthy name on it.
It is one of the funniest books i ever read, a laugh out loud at yourself book.

In The Road to McCarthy he traveled over four continents in search of "McCarthy".

He only published two books but do your self a favour - Read Them!

He also presented the British Channel 4 series Travelog and hosted BBC Radio 4 panel show X Marks The Spot.
